It’s spring! Time to meet a friend or two for a cup of something wonderful and check out the art at Port City Java (Between Martinsville Road, Pisgah Church Road & Lawndale; map here).
Greensboro School of Creativity artist Karen Spencer is currently exhibiting some of her multimedia work there now. You’ll find whimsical mixed-media collages featuring a mother hen warming unique eggs and a cow creating mayhem on the farm. There’s a tissue collage / painting of an intergenerational tea party, a chef preparing asparagus, and a compelling painting of a Cambodian father holding his daughter. Finally there is an unusual image of a mentor / mentee interaction and a triptych with a river running through it.
Come on in, grab a cup and check out what’s new at Port City Java. Spring is here.
